Its hard not to love lavender. The smell, the subtle yet powerful purple color, its versatility. Most often we see lavender used in outdoor, garden weddings. But it can easily be transformed to city life and brings a delicate nature that the typical rose can not. Did we mention the lovely fragrance?

Creating an alternative bar at your reception will make your wedding stick out and give you happy guests excited to try new treats! You can change up the display of drinks or create yummy bars, such as dessert options. Dessert bars are very popular at the moment, but how about making it specific to a kind of dessert? Sundaes are a great option with lots of varying toppings to work with and everyone loves ice cream! You can get really creative in what foods or drinks you enjoy as a couple. Giving guests an interactive way to create their own favors, such as a trail mix bar, gives them a taste (no pun intended) of you as a couple.

We are in LOVE with all of our weddings this Fall, but Eliza & Brigham’s wedding is right around the corner and we are little busy bees working hard for this wedding to come together without a hitch. They are both teachers at a private school in DC so lots of apples, chalk boards and post-it notes in this creative wedding!

Wearing a short dress makes the world look at you and grin. A past bride of mine had it scheduled into her master timeline when it was that ”time” for her to change into her short dress for the evening. When she returned and hit the dance floor the vibe changed and everything was taken up a notch. Go for it~ change into that short dress and make a grand entrance or exit!
